I glued 200 matches together to yield a 14 inch automotive sculpture. The folk art of making objects out of wooden matchsticks was my inspiration to build a model of a 1960s 'slingshot' dragster.

My cordless Black & Decker GSL35 garden shear, bought at a yard sale, was minus the charger. Rather than buy an aftermarket charger, I jury-rigged a cheap substitute. There's no shut-off when battery is full so this is a less safe, less prudent solution.

Vintage industrial china found at thrift stores and flea markets for over 30 years. Thick, vitrified, decorated whiteware mugs which were used in hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, cruise ships and air liners of the past. Many of the cups were found in upstate New York, a center of ceramics manufacturing in the USA in a bygone era.

My Craftsman #83928 stopped operating correctly. The cord would come out but not stop at a desired length to be useful. So I opened it up, found a broken sprocket (part of the ratcheting mechanism) and made a new cog from scrap plastic (black vinyl pipe).
